Introduction
With the theme of “One Health and Transformative Innovation: Advancing the Equitable Elimination of Tropical Diseases to Achieve the 2030 Agenda”, this side event will convene global experts to explore integrated solutions for tropical disease elimination. It demonstrates how Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), combined with the One Health approach—connecting human, animal, and environmental health—can accelerate progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering cross-sector collaboration, the event showcases solutions linking health with water, energy, infrastructure, and urban development, thereby advancing the fair and inclusive elimination of malaria and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
Key discussions will address:
l Lesson Learnt from Tropical Diseases Elimination Programme: Integrated One Health Approaches
l Acceleration of tropical diseases elimination through Science, Technology, and Innovation through One Health lens
l Challenges and solution of tropical diseases elimination to achieving SDGs
By unlocking the potential of coordinated STI, an expert consensus will achieve in the end of the event, in order to identify scalable solutions for establishment of resilient health systems leading to achieve SDGs targets on tropical diseases, such as malaria and neglected tropical diseases.
